Mrs. Deborah Adefunke Ogunmola

Mrs. Deborah Adefunke Ogunmola was born on September 2, 1958 in Ogori, Ogori/Magongo Local Government Area of Kogi State. She had her First School Leaving Certificate from St. Peter’s Primary School, Ogori and proceeded to Crowther Memorial College, Lokoja where she had her Secondary School Certificate in the year 1973.
She had her Higher School Certificate from the Titcombe College, Egbe in 1975 and proceeded to work with the Kwara State Government till 1978 when she resigned her appointment. She then proceeded to Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin from where she bagged the Ordinary National and Higher National Diplomas in Executive Secretariship in 1980 and 1982 respectively.
She had her National Youth Service with the Kwara State Printing and Publishing Corporation (Publishers of the Herald Newspaper) in the year 1982/83. After her youth service, she was retained in the Corporation where she rose to the position of a Principal Confidential Secretary I.
She then went back to the Kwara State Polytechnic for her Advanced Diploma in Public Administration between the years 1990-1991 graduating as the best student of her class.
Mrs. Ogunmola was deployed to the newly created Kogi State in 1992 and was the pioneer Principal Personnel Officer of the Kogi State Printing and Publishing Corporation, Publishers of the Graphic Newspapers. She rose to the position of Administrative Manager/Secretary of the Corporation in the year 1995.
She was appointed as the Caretaker Chairman/Sole Administrator of Mopa/Muro Local Government Area of Kogi State in September, 1998 and served between 1998 and June 1999.
She proceeded to obtain a Post Graduate Diploma in Administration from the Enugu State University of Science and Technology in 1999 and successfully bagged a Master Degree in Public Administration from the same institution in the year 2001.
She has attended several seminars and workshops within and outside Nigeria including a course in Public Administration at the Royal Institute of Public Administration (RIPA), London.
She was redeployed to the Ministry of Information as the Deputy Director Administration and Finance in March, 2002 and promoted to a substantive Director in the ministry in the year 2006.
Mrs. Ogunmola was amongst the first set of Directors who sat for the Permanent Secretary examinations in 2010 upon its adoption by the Kogi State Government. Being successful in the examination, she was appointed Permanent Secretary in June, 2011 and was deployed to the Ministry of Information. She has served in several ministries including Solid Minerals, Budget and Planning, Lands and Housing, Finance, and Works.
She has served in many Boards of Tertiary Institutions in the State and Committees including the Sally Tibot Screening Review Committee, Panel of Inquiry into the Students’ Crisis of the College of Education, Ankpa in 2011, and the 2014 Staff Verification and Data Capturing Exercise.
Mrs. Ogunmola is happily married and blessed with two beautiful children. Her life has been that of hard work, dedication to service, perseverance and the fear of God.
